GCAP-The Gynecological Cancer Awareness Project

The mission of The Gynecological Cancer Awareness Project is to empower all people in the southwest affected by gynecological cancers by providing education and support-helping them to live a healthy and inspired life. Our vision is that all people in the southwest region affected by gynecological cancers receive the care and support they need to maintain their quality of life.

The goal of The GCAP organization and our community-based navigation service called, The CanDO! Project, is to focus on identifying and eliminating psycho-social barriers to allow ALL people affected by cancer to focus on their medical treatment, leading to improved health outcomes and an overall reduction in cancer-related distress. All GCAP program services are available FREE of charge to all people affected by a gynecological cancer. We also provide gynecological cancer education through classes and a library, monthly social groups for patients to connect and have peer support, lodging in a private townhome, and financial assistance is given to eligible patients in New Mexico, for such non-medical expenses as rent, mortgage, child care, gas, utilities, and transportation (payments are made directly to a third party).
